Tell us briefly about yourself and please update your classmates on your personal/professional experience since graduating from BLI: I am married and have 1 daughter and I reside in Apalachin. I have worked at M&T Bank for 35 years. I currently work in the Endicott office.
Favorite books/movies: I like to read books on American History. My favorite movie is Miracle on 34th Street.
Current and Past Notable Civic Activities: In the 90’s I was the Treasurer of the Endwell Kiwanis. I am currently on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome and Meals on Wheels.
Interests/Hobbies: I like to garden and bake and enjoy hiking and golfing.
How did your BLI experience change your perception of the community, and motivate you to become more involved in the community? My BLI experience made me see that community engagement is critical to the long term success and revitalization of our local area.
Where would you like to see a future BLI class or leadership event held in the area? One of the nursing homes to discuss the Onbudsman program.
What was your most memorable BLI activity/moment? The first day was the most memorable. The group had to work together to accomplish several activities.
What was the most valuable benefit to you from your BLI experience? The last sessions were on how to become an effective board member. The workbooks provided at the sessions have helped me a great deal and I refer to them frequently.
What “nugget of wisdom” do you have for your fellow BLI alum? Enjoy the exposure to all we have in our community.
