How did your BLI experience change your perception of the community?
I thought I knew everything there was to know about Broome County, having lived here my entire life. BLI opened my eyes to things I never knew about the area. In addition, it reminded my why I choose to live in the area.
How did your BLI experience motivate you to become more involved in the community?
BLI opened up a universe of opportunities to become more involved in the community. It introduced me to new people and organizations which gave me the chance to see where my experience could be best put to use.
What was your most memorable BLI activity/moment?
I would have to say our class project which was a benefit “Biker” Ball to benefit the Fresh Cycles organization which teaches kids how to repair bikes and then lets the kid keep the bike.
What was the most valuable benefit to you from your BLI experience?
Meeting so many great people -my classmates as well as the people we met during class that took the time to share with and teach us.
What “nugget of wisdom” do you haveĀ for your fellow BLI alum?
Listen to everything that is presented to you. Take time to enjoy the knowledge that you are gaining and the relationships you are building. And then decide where you can best give back and make a difference.
