Tell us briefly about yourself and please update your classmates on your personal/professional experiences since graduating from BLI:
Since attending BLI, I have had the opportunity to work with various community agencies and organizations to work toward a healthier Broome County. This is consistent with UHS’s mission, but also with my personal goals.
Favorite books/movies:
Movie: Reds, Schindler’s List
Books: Good to Great, Jude the Obscure, The Glass Bead Game
Current and Past Notable Civic Activities:
Board, HealtheConnections (local RHIO); Board, Chamber of Commerce; Board, United Methodist Homes
Interests/Hobbies:
Gardening, collecting American art pottery, antiques
How did your BLI experience change your perception of the community, and motivate you to become more involved in your community?
I have been able to experience so many things going WELL, but have also encountered a lack of awareness of some of the great things this community has to offer.
What was your most memorable BLI activity/moment?
The initial kick off retreat and the trip to Broome County Landfill.
What was the most valuable benefit to your from your BLI experience?
Meeting other community leaders.
What “nugget of wisdom” do you have for your fellow BLI alum?
You get what you give, so go in with both feet in terms of participation and attendance.
